Cool Hot Tub Shot From Myrtle Beach

    As requested...

    ;-)

    Also, here's a night shot of a fountain. F5, 80-200mm f2.8, Reala, 3/4 second exposure at f 5.6.

A night shot of the Grand Strand from North Myrtle Beach. This was taken with the K1000, 50mm f1.4, Provia 400, 60 seconds at f 8.

Finally, a star shot from the beach. The white line at the bottom are the waves breaking. Also taken with the K1000, 50mm f1.4, Provia 400, 30 second exposure at f 1.4.

Yep. It is the signature shot of our Myrtle Beach trips. It has become an icon, and I've found that it is expected of me to post it.

Personally, I think the guys just like looking at my wife!

She is easy on the eyes though, isn't she?

Thank you Adina! You are such a sweetheart.

We didn't get any tanning time in this year. The highs ranged from about 50 to 60 degrees - not exactly tanning weather. I guess that's just me being flushed being so close to such a gorgeous woman.

Well OK I guess us old geezer got our fix for another year.

What I don't understand is why with a traveling companion like that you were out doing serious photography. Some really nice image you came home with Speed.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

I'm guessing you were nude here, too, huh? Just the shades and the wedding ring.

Funny, I didn't know Myrtle Beach had gone nude.

    Nice shots!

That first shot is somewhat familiar. She's still hanging out with that old gray haired guy!

I like that shot of the beach. Man, checking your equipment out you've done some upgrades since we've last talked! Looks like you're still shooting film but have upgraded camera/lenses. Cool!

I'm looking forward to poking back through old posts and seeing what you've been up to!

Hey you never can tell. I may post some beach photo's this summer.

    ;-)

"What I don't understand is why with a traveling companion like that you were out doing serious photography."

My lovely travelling companion was with me for nearly all my photo's this year. The exceptions were the night shots from the beach (star shots and the Grand Strand Photo's). It got into the lower 40's, upper 30's at night. She was with me when I took the fountain shot.

Thank you for the comments Old Timer!

"Just the shades and the wedding ring."

Nope, I wasn't quite that bold. I was wearing a swim suit. But that is an idea for next year...

    ;-)

"Funny, I didn't know Myrtle Beach had gone nude."

Well, they do have a "Doll House", "Crazy Horse" and several other institutions for, shall we say, nude performing arts. And some of the swimsuits I've seen on the beach aren't too far from being nude either. But as far as I know, they have not gone nude...yet.

    "Keep livin' the life..."

Great words to live by my friend! I'll do just that.

Yes she is. Not only is she hanging out with him, she even has marital relations with him! Outrageous, isn't it?

Oh yeah. Christmas 2004 I got a used F5. Christmas 2005 I got the 80-200mm f2.8. And for Christmas of 2006 I'm looking at getting a D200. What can I say? I'm expensive, but she thinks I'm worth it.

Here are a couple of things you've missed:

I Got My Father's Day Present

    Just Another Carteret County Sunset

I didn't save the post on the 80-200mm f 2.8, so here's some photo's of it. I got it in October (it was an early Christmas present).

    Hehehe.

    You wish!

Hey, you're a good looking guy. You can find a much younger woman as well.

    ;-)

Here are a few more star photo's for you Rickster.

The first one is Orion taken from my yard in Newport, North Carolina. The second one was taken on the beach in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. These were taken on the same roll of film (two frames apart). Both are 30 second exposures at f 1.4. You can see the difference all the lights make in these shots.

Wow, nice lens and ride!!! Holy cow. You've had a nice year! Just out of curiosity, what kind of camera bag is that? It looks just like my Canon backpack. Just wondering if you're carrying your NIkon gear in a Canon bag.

Those shots of Bogue Sound are awesome. Why aren't they on your website?

Hmmm. Guess I've been busted. It is a Canon backpack. It was $75 instead of $229 for the Lowepro. I've had it for a couple of years now, and it's starting to come apart. My next backpack will be a Lowepro.

"Those shots of Bogue Sound are awesome. Why aren't they on your website?"

Actually, I've been thinking about if I want to just upload them to my site, or if I want to add another catagory just for sunrise/sunset photo's. Don't want to make the site too busy you know....

Ha, I bought the same backpack for the same reason. It's hard to beat for the price. However, I've just about outgrown it. If I can ever save enough to get my 100-400 L, I'll need a new one and will probably go with a Lowepro or Tamrac.

I think another category would be ok. As good as they are, you need to showcase them!

I've been thinking about redoing mine and reducing the number of photos on it to just a few of the best. Or possibly having two sites. A commercial site with just a limited number of images and sizes/prices on each photo page and also a personal site, essentially being what I have now.
