    Re: Holga...

Did you see I put the Holga in our Holiday Gift Guide? And the Lomo, too

Infrared in a Holga will be tricky. Besides the obvious issues with light leaks and the ligh-fastness of the plastic body, I don't think anyone is making medium format IR film anymore. Konica was making it in small batches, but I think they stopped. I bought a bunch a couple of years ago and have a stash. But I'm not sure about availability now. B&H would be the pklace to check.

    Re: Holga...

You're probably right about the light leaks and all (IR film is maddening enough in a "normal camera"), but one can certainly try it as Holgas work with 35mm film also...

    I found some...

You'd probably have to put multiple layers of black duct tape on every millimeter of the body, and it might work..

I found some 120 IR film, black and white, at http://www.freestylephoto.biz

    Groovy!

First reaction - "Cool! She shot infra with a Holga!"

    Then - "Darn. Fooled again."

As for actually shooting infrared in the Holga - it's something that's in the works with me! I actually went out and bought a gel filter. But instead of using real infrared, I was planning on using Ilford SFX [FX? I'm in a cafe and the roll isn't exactly handy."]

Go for it, Brian! I can't wait! What I would do, though, is to tape it all up like crazy, then tape it to a tripod, and snap the shutter 4 times or so. Actually, I'd experiment on the first roll with the same shot on a tripod and snap the shutter 1x on the first frame, 2x on the second, 3x on the thrid, and go up to exposures. I was thinking of getting the Holga with the cable release from Holga mods to do this..........

Can't wait to see what you get!

    Re: Holga...

    Hi guys...

Brian: Thanks for the film info... I'm with Megan, I say .. go for it! What else do you have to do? I'll be watching. :P

PJ: Yes i did, and also noticed the price! At $20 I see why Megan has 3. Thanks for the info. I have heard that it takes 35 mm also.. About a year ago I saw a Holga site that had infrared shots on it but dang if I can find it now. Maybe you'll be able to scalp your stash of film . heh..

    Steve: Hi.. lol

Megan: Foiled again! lol It sounds like you have the technique already figured out.. why not just beat Brian to it?

Rachel: Thanks! I was wondering if anyone liked it. BTW... Love the hair.

He macine cuts Kodak aereographic infrared film down to 120 size. It's expensive, but it's 120 IR film identical to HIE!

Jared... Thank you... did you notice that this thread was from November 18? someone revived it.. lol I only shoot Digital for the last few years and find that you can accomplish the exact same infrared look as film.. Here's another old thread from October that has some more infrared shots.. so when you gonna try it?
