Paul, I LOVE birds. I've been birding since January-ish. I'll definitely check out your post.

I have over 400 birds on my "life list"(not that I keep track that much)..... in 4 years of birding the US(AZ, TX, NJ, NY, PA). Not too shabby since nearly 20 have been photographed in that time;)

I have always been a nature nut, but up until 4- 5 years ago though a bird was a bird ;)

Wow...that's great! I think I have roughly 80 or so. I counted up a couple weeks ago and I've taken pictures (not all really that fabulous) of 60 types. I've REALLY loved this time of year, with all the young birds around.
Have you read "The Verb, To Bird"? It's a great book.

no, but I hsve read " the kingbird highway". It's about ken kaufman's trip across the US chasing birds as a youth.

Adding new species to my list is getting pretty hard these days..... vagraint western/ northern species is nearly my only hope besides TRAVEL. I may go down to maryland(I think) to find the mew gull that over winters yearly, or find the gyrfalcon in boston this winter though.

Well, I can imagine it's not too easy to add to that list...lol. At least now I have a place to post my unidentified pics...hehe. I'll try not to be too embarassed when you or someone else says, um...that's a house sparrow...?

Good catch! Especially the fact that they are going in different directions. I agree with Paul - you might try brightening it up a bit - and a little sharper. I'm not good at post processing, so I can't tell you how. But this is one nice shot, and I think you could improve it just a little. It would be worth it.
