    help choose new business card

    Please...
They are all pretty similar, thus the reason I'm having difficulty.
Please critique, any input is helpful. Mix and match, different fonts, different combos of font with image. anything.

    Thanks!

    Last group,
I'm sure you see my dilema. (sp?)

I'm going to have 2, one specifically for weddings and one for portraits. (i haven't focused on the portriats one yet)

Upper left and lower right in the first post, and you could use the portrait oriented card of the women shot from above looking down for your portrait work. These emphasize your banner and contact information.

I'm not a graphic designer but a couple of these cards don't work! The pairings of the couple are either out of balance with the card (not located well-need a graphic designer to answer the technical issue, mine went home for the day) and or elements are eye catching enough you look away from the total card. I think a term of the week is, "they're to busy".

I'll let the experts comment on the fonts and typography.

The left card in the third posting almost works, this is a classic pose that if it is done exactly right, the light coming through between the couple forms a heart! You either must have two people of similar physiques, a box for (the woman usually) to stand on so that both of their spines are straight, or force the perspective to acheive the "heart" effect. For silhouettes, you can trick the photo with a piece of styrofoam cut to form a heart, have the models put it in between them so they are posed and then pull it out just before you expose the shot. Of course if they aren't "built right" that won't help.

One more item, if you are going to shoot only B/W or antiqued wedding photos, that is one thing, but if you're going to shoot color, you might want to think about that as a card element, even if its text or the sunset behind the couple.

Just a few comments. Hope they are helpful.

    Best wishes-CDP

Katt, all the pictures above are absolutely wonderful. But one stands out for me...in the second set, where the bride has her ams around the groom, and the groom's back is facing us, is just an awesome picture in my estimation. I would suggest, however, that you bring the font size down just a tad for the Kathryn Photography. Not much, just a little. Other than that, I really like it.

Hi Katt. You did some VERY nice work for your card. If you'd like an opinion from a strictly non professional point of view. These are the ones I am attracted to.

    Katt,

Are you only a wedding photographer, which is what all but the single woman shot say to me. Or are you a photographer for all occassions, if so, none of them impart that to me.

Of them all, I like the single woman shot and the cuddle one with the guy's back towards the camera.

I'm going to be the third person that picks the one at the top left in the first post. Great shot - it really pops! If it's a crop from a larger shot, you might try moving the couple over to the right just a little bit. That way your name wouldn't be squished on the left side.

Re: help choose new business card

Thanks everyone for your input. Not that it has really narrowed things down for me, but it'll help.

Just a little info. This card (except for the black portrait) is for wedding stuff.
I'll make up another one for everything else.
I'd use the Vertical portrait i've got up there, but i've been using that card for a long time and would like something a bit newer.

So, i'll have 2 cards, one for weddings and one for other stuff. Depends on who I hand it out to.
