First shots & first self portrait

    .. with my new Tamron 17-50 f/2.8.

Sharp. This shot is right out of the camera. All I did was convert from RAW and resize.

    The particulars:
    Canon 20D
    Focal length: 20mm
    ISO: 400
    Shutter: 1/60
    Apeture: f/3.5
    Auto WB

My first self portrait. This one got one pass with Noise Ninja and some USM.

    The particulars:
    20D
    Focal length: 50mm
    ISO: 3200
    Shutter: 1/50
    Apeture: f2.8
    Auto WB

First imperssions... I like this lens!

    Awesome, you got it!

I'll be using it all weekend. I have three family events to go to starting tonight. I'll be using them as practice.

It's light weight isn't it? I also prefer the zippy sound over the grinding noise of my 28-105 Sigma but nothing beats Canon's USM.

    Thanks for the recommendation!

    Enjoy the family gatherings.

I haven't even heard it focusing yet. It seems as fast and quiet as the only canon usm lens I have. The 28-90 kit lens.

I'm taking it to Baltimore's Inner Harbour tomorrow to see what it can do.

You and I are going to be poster children for this lens!
