    Cool Finally, first genuine tearsheet!

Web recognition is nice, but there's nothing better than coming home to find a tear sheet waiting in the mailbox...except maybe a tear sheet with a check enclosed!

Frank Rodriguez shot at Jupiter inlet in late Oct, 2010 for the "Luminaries" feature in this month's issue of Latino Leaders Magazine.

    Daq,
When a photographer builds a portfolio (book) to show to potential clients it's made up of 2 parts. Their best images in a specific theme (architecture, lifestyle, fashion, etc) go in the first part, and "tear sheets" go in the second part. These are examples of work that has been published in print, that are literally torn out of magazines and mounted in your book. It is a way to prove that your work is good enough that other people are willing to buy it. It cost's next to nothing to "publish" something on the web, but if someone is willing to invest in actually printing 10,000+ copies of your work, it adds a measure credibility to your assertion that you know what you're doing...

Good job and a nice photo! And yeah, after a while, just seeing your stuff in print doesn't cut it. I always say, if it's worth printing, it's worth paying for. Glad you're getting paid
