A few shots from Stone Mt. Georgia

Here are a few shots from our trip to Stone Mountain last week. The carved out section on the wall covers three acres and the figures are nine stories tall, Jeff

    Hi Jeff,

These are really nice shots. The area reminds me of the countryside and a few small towns in NJ around the Delaware Water Gap - close to PA. Beautiful country - very peaceful, restful and great photo ops.

I hope you had a good time!

I didn't see your other post about where to visit in Atlanta until yesterday.

Some of the best Stone Mountain shots I have seen. Nice work. You are looking like the pro you are.

Jeff, I knew you would have some good shots from the park.

If you've never heard Lewis Grizzard tell about Gen. Sherman leaving Atlanta going past Stone Mountain, see if you can find the recording.
He was very talented. If you don't find recording then just read the story here. http://tiphumor.blogspot.com/2006/03...-grizzard.html

Jeff, nice images - clear crisp and colourful - not many covered bridges left in the world. For those of us in the Great White North (or elsewhere) who don't know, tell us the story behind the carvings - who, what, when, why...thanks.

Thanks to everyone for taking a look and leaving your nice comments. I had a hard time finding something to take pictures of. Don't know if there weren't that many places or I just didn't get to where they were, Jeff
