    Engagement photo from this week.

It's almost time to hang up the calculator (2 months to go), and start doing wedding for at least a year. For the first time I've booked 6 weddings for September and October and no longer at "friend" prices. While I hope to raise enough money through wedding photography, and then have more time to do travel/landscape/stock photography in the slow months. I just want to use my camera for a living.

This is from Susan and Ralph's engagment photo, and this is the one they selected.

Of course you would Penny. You would be pretty safe with Wacko Jacko, you're a beautiful woman, he likes little boys.

    Loren,

This is a really nice photo! I hope to someday make a living with my camera too. Good luck!

Great shot Loren. Very nice, I'm sure they were pleased.

Having seen your work here on PR, I have no doubt that you can make a very good living with your photography! Here's wishing you the best in your endevours, and I trust you'll be happy doing what you love to do. Hey, isn't that what most of us here dream about doing? You're doing it!

Loren- fabulous job capturing what looks like an intimate moment between the two. That's what weddings are all about!

    Thanks Everybody

Thank you everybody...It's scary, and I really hope that my dependence on wedding income will not be a factor for more than a year. It's my goal to have a distinct style that will lend to my style where the photography will not be a challenge. As long as I can make it match to my style, then I can be creative and get comfortable shaping light and composition.

I learned from prior experience that doing wedding photography in a formulaic or a friend doing a favor, it didn't work or was frustrating. I love taking pictures, and now I can model these people around to fit my style. If they sign up for it, then they know in advance what to expect. Hopefully the commercial/travel work will grow.

I attribute this risk and the support to my wife. Without her motivation, I would be waiting for my heart attack at Citigroup.

Great job here Loren. You have nothing to worry about. You have the eye, the talent - and your photos are awesome. I always look forward to viewing them.
