    The D70 has landed

The D70 has landed in my hot little anxious hands. I have been on a couple of waiting list since the first group of D70's hit the US a few weeks ago. Monday afternoon Murphy's Camera in Lexington call and said they had one in with my name on it. I made the 60 mile trip yesterday afternoon to pick it up. I did get the kit with the 17-80 lense as well and am looking to add a tele zoom in the near future. Got home around 7:30 PM and slapped the battery in and headed for the back yard just so I could record somekind of image. I am really looking forward to learning to use this camera. I love the feel in my hands and it seem to have many similarities to my N80 just wish the SB 28 DX was totally compatible. Here is the first image straight out of the camera with only sizing done. Kit lense at 70mm ISO 400 at 1/60.

    Glad to have you...

Over on the Dark Side.. I think you will love your D70 as much as I'm loving my D100. I have to admit that I'm jealous! I would love to have a flash sync of 1/500 and a 144 frame buffer!! ::just drools::

Enjoy the freedom the DSLR will bring you OT. I'm looking forward to seeing even more images from you!

    Hello OldTimer,

Congrats for the new camera! I found mine to be an impressive tool so far. It's interesting to hear that you have goten the kit lense. I'll look forward for your personal impressions over the camera/lense setup as a whole and on the lense itself.

    enjoy!

    Thanks to all

I am really excited about the D70 and looking forward to sharing not only pictures with everyone here at PR but also knowledged learned about this new tool. I hope that everyone with the D70 will share their newly aquired knowledge about this exciting addition to the Nikon stable and that you old timers with DSLR's will be patient with us as we learn and experiment. Thanks to all for your encouragement and helpful comments in the past.
