    Cheap Flash For D70...

Or just about any other camera.
    The sunpack 383 super is a powerfull flash, GN120, @ 35mm!
It does not communicate w/ the camera at all. It does have it own meter that is very accurate. one speacial feature it does support is rear curtain sync.
another flash that is similar, and I have heard more rugged is the vivitar 283.
My reason for posting this is to let others know there are good alternatives to dedicated flash that are priced way high. the sunpack and vivitar are about $70. here are 2 samples that were closer than the recommended range, but still came out good.
The car is 1/64 scale and is behind a plastic bubble.

I use an $70 sunpak auto 144 D with my Canon D30 and my manual pentax. It works great. However, a 550ex would be nice...

    Yeah, it would be nice!
the only flash options offered for the D70 are SB600&SB800, 200 &300 $. I think people should know that there are cheaper alternatives that will work great under most circumstances.
When I first tried this, I wasnt sure that it wouldn't fry my camera!
