    Cairo

I just got from a work trip to Egypt. I took a point and shoot with me to do pictures of computer suites but it was also handy when we went out after work. Our Egyptian hosts treated us very well - a chauffeur to drive us round and even a trip to the Pyramids on the way back from the disaster recovery site.

All pictures by Fuji F40 - which did not survive the walk in the desert round the Pyramids (got dust in it).

    2. Same thing, late afternoon
    3 & 4. Old town

Great pics, Charles. I envy you terribly. Always wanted to travel to Egypt.

Love the perspective of the last shot.

I was only there for 2 working days but that means 3 nights what with the time to get there and back.

The Fuji F40 has a f2.8 fixed zoom lens equivalent to a 35-105. It can go up to a (rather noisy) 2000 ISO which is just enough to do photos at night. When I'm on these trips the only time you get to go visiting is early in the morning or in the evening. We managed to fit in the Pyramids because we had just about finished our meetings and we were close by.

I really like Egypt. It's really bustling with activity. Not that that's good for everybody - one of my collegues couldn't sleep because of the car horns honking all night 14 floors below. The chauffeur was a necessity - to get to the office on foot would have meant crossing 10 lanes of cars which stop for nothing..

Great set of pics Charles I particularly like the tire shop image and the alley way. Very nice considering your limitation of equipment..
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...
