    Budget cuts effect our town

Saw this and thought it was worth taking a shot of. Our little city is trying to cut cost anywhere they can. The old signs are being replaced with the newer cost saving version. See what you think, Jeff

Why do the shadows from the two signs seem to be going in different directions?

PAul, I think you missed the whole point of the picture. Making that observation is like someone seeing a picture of a dozen Playboy centerfolds nude and commenting that one of them isn't wearing shoes. If you are wondering if this has been PhotoShoped the answer is no. Other than resizing and a crop it is just how it came out of the camera and is just how these signs are at this intersection, Jeff

Because of the contour of the terrain they're falling upon

    Grandpaw,
At least your town has a sense of humor about it. FL is dealing with it in ways like mandatory streetlight usage fees for residents and $168.00 "accident response fee" (which is NOT covered by your auto insurance) when police are called to the scene of a fender bender.

BTW cost of replacing a stop sign in my town is $512.45

Sounds like FL has thought of ways to make extra revenue.
Like our ambulance service charges for attending the scene of an accident.

So who's placing the stop budget cuts signs?
They look almost official, it's the same sort of post.
Is this the town fighting back against budget cuts imposed on them?

    Just like the moon photos
And yes, I do believe they landed on the moon!

I can't see enough at that resolution to work out the slopes on the verge.

So to let everyone know this is the only one in town and it is on the end of the road where all the city vehicles are kept, Jeff

So I wonder if you get a ticket for coming to only a rolling or half-stop on that one rather than a full and complete stop?
    Cheers,
    Greg

There's something wrong with that? If they're the only one not wearing shoes?
