No noise, just a slight pull to the left.

The brake pads have a springy piece that's supposed to hit the disc and start screeching at about 3mm pad depth. But that can't cope with heavy corrosion on the edges of the disc and reduced braking area - where the pads aren't worn.
You mean before they broke off, locking the wheel? Yeah, I'd say so.
I have to wonder what car this came off of? I have only seen one car before that had only three lug nuts and studs to hold the wheel on. That was a French made Renault Caravelle, circa 1962 I think?
