Re: 2006 - Photo Goals & Resolutions for the New Year

    Goals for 2006.....

I'm going to spend less time working but increase my profit. I did pretty good this year, now I just have to refine things.

I'm going to start photographing terminally ill children. I will donate my time and an album. We've been very fortunate not to have any serious illnesses, and I am very grateful for that. Not everyone is so lucky. I am meeting with a pediatric nurse (photographing her daughter, who is not ill) and am going to bounce some ideas off her, and see if I can get something set up and going.

Learn how to work that damn p&s that we got in December.

    I think that's about it.

    1. Move into a complete digital workflow by obtaining a DSLR
    2. Get enough material for a folio
    3. Stop beating myself up and realize you can't be on the top overnight
    4. Exhibit in October (beginner's category)
    5. Have lots of fun with it, learn as much as possible, and become a better citizen at PR.

Just Shoot, baby! There are people here that have posted more times than I have pressed the shutter button on my camera. I mean to remedy that this year.

I hope to take a few thousand shots that are soooo bad that I delete them immediately. That'll mean two things to me:

    1. I'm actually getting time to shoot and gain experience and making mistakes to learn from
    2. With that many bad ones there are bound to be a few keepers. Aren't there?

    OKay guys, how'd you do?

I worked the same amount, but made more. My second was foiled by lack of a fax machine, going to get that taken care of before March. My third, well, we can use the movie mode.

Not so good, Adina. I accomplished some of 1, 2, and 4, but the others just fell flat due to moving and my own slacking.

I want to upgrade to some L glass, perhaps the 70-200mm f2.8L USM IS for starters.
Get a decent, workable website up and running.
I want to get a great shot of a Kestral.
I want to make my 2007 calendar much better than my 2006 calendar. (I had calendars printed using my pics for Christmas gifts this year.)
    And perhaps get a flash.

I did pretty good on most of mine. I did make more money this year than I did last year. I have a better understanding of exposure now, but still improving. That is going to be a life long goal for me. I did get an L lens, but not the 70-200. I got the 24-70 f/2.8 L instead. Still want the 70-200 tho. I did great a website, but I want to redo the entire thing. I haven't touched it since early last year. Still looking for that great Kestral shot. The 2007 calender is a little better than the 2006 IMO. I purchased the EX 580 flash.
