2 months ago today I picked up my first camera. It has been a great, and rewarding experience. This site makes it all the better and I have learned more here than I could have in a year long course.

2 months ago today I picked up my first camera. It has been a great, and rewarding experience. This site makes it all the better and I have learned more here than I could have in a year long course.

It's neat that many of the people who have posted here over the last several years have gone from somewhat inexperienced amateurs to making at least some part of their living from photography.

This is a nice place on the web. I hang out some on another big photo site, but the tone is entirely different -- there aren't too many elitist jerks with savage disdain for the works of others around here, just nice helpoful folks.
