    I took this 20 minutes ago...

    D70 with 75-300 and new Tamron 1.4 teleconverter. What do you think?

    looks like there is some weird purple around the needles on the left side of the shot. actually, it looks like that shows up around all the green areas...

    I think it's awesome that you can go into your back yard and catch a shot like that! The bird is in a great position, and very clear! I love the backlighting on its tail, too.

    This is a cool moment or posture to catch this bird. It is just blended in with the tree branch and needles enough to be a bit distracting. I do liike the back light on the tail as kelly pointed out. So, between the digital sensor size and the converter you have about close to 600mm or so?
