    Wein peanut slave

Okay, I've bought a vivitar 285hv. I've been looking at the wein peanut slave. I just want to make sure I understand this before I buy it.

    Here is the link:

Here is my understanding of how it works, please correct me if I'm wrong.
With the wein slave attached to the vivitar 285, I can remotely fire the 285 from my on-camera flash (manual mode w/ no preflash) or from my alien bee (Hooked up to camera via sync cord)

Is this the right wein unit to accomplish this?

    Thanks a lot!

    Re: Wein peanut slave

I'd have to say that's what you're looking for.
The flash from the master will cause the flash with the Wein(the slave) to fire.
It's pretty straight-forward and you've found the peanut dedicated to your flash.
