Need Expert Advice on this items... :-)

    Hi,

I've been buying some stuff for my new studio and I need some advice/opinion or comments on theses items. If anyone have bad experience or good with it.

I'm very confused on choosing the best stands in Manfrotto, so much choices. Perhaps you guys can help me make the best choice. My needs:steel heavy duty stand, Good Boom that can take a good load. Max: 300$ Per stands.

Do you think there is some Items that are not included with manfrotto stands that I need to know when buying it? For example do they include Stand Adapter - 1-1/8" to 5/8" with the booms??

I know it's a big list but I need need some feedback from other people.

    That's a lot of stuff!

Have you checked the review section on this site? I'm sure at least all of your Canon questions would be answered. The only comments I have (being a Nikon shooter) are:

I have the Photoflex disc holder boom and it works well, but a friend has one that grabs the edges of the reflector frame. Seems to work better than mine but I can't remember who made his.

Pelican boxes are nice and the ultimate in protection, but probably overkill for a lot of situations. They're pretty big and bulky compared to soft-sided bags for how much equipment they will carry.

My bigger problem here is I don't know exactly the best stands I would need for these monolights and big softbox. I prefer sticking in the Avenger Manfrotto series but wish one would you suggest?? ( it's for studio )

    Thank you

my advice on stands is this. Make sure they have a heavy duty rating and come with air cushion. That way, if you forget and loosen them without holding on to the top, they won't just fall and bust your lights. Just my advice. Not sure about the other equipment, but I use a Cannon Digi Rebel and love it. I'm planning on purchasing the 20 D and using the rebel as my back up soon
