You probably already thought of or tried, but here goes. I want to shoot a goth model in a pitch black room using long exposure and multiple flash bursts. Here is one of the shot setups:
exposure 30-45 secs
3 bursts 1. with straight on shot 2. looking left 3. looking right. Only head movement.
Aperture at 2.8
What i expect to get is a figure that appears to have 3 heads, or at least a head with the distinct faces. If it is dark enough, i am thinking i will not get a blur, but instead sharp shots of the head. Do you think I should use a ND filter for this to darken even more? Have you ever tried it?
PS, i plan to bounce the flash off the nearest wall on the profiles, and the ceiling on the straight forward bursts.
