I'm new to the DSLR world

Im looking for an exilent sports camera that i can take some really good pics with. so far ive looked at the Digital rebel, Digital Rebel xt, D70, D100, and possibly the EOS 20D. I would like any recomendations or suggestions.

Excellent, really good? Sure. Affordable? Perhaps not!
Can I assume from your selection you can't afford the Canon 1DsII ?
Or the soon-to-be-sold-if-the-rumours-are-true Nikon D2X ?

From your selectoon, I've bought the EOS 20D.

You can see a few recent threads here with photos from F1 testing at Barcelona and Valencia.
EOS 20D, 70-200 L IS f2.8 (some with 2x converter) and 24-70 L f2.8
Also a few over in Critique, but without cars

So far I've had one replacement lens (10-22 EF-S) and a replacement body.
I'm still not totally satisfied. But the new body with 1.1.0 firmware is far better than the 1.0.5 body.
I'm thankful for a very helpful local dealer, rather than buying over the internet from abroad!

The camera seems capable, with the exception of the autofocus, which I still find a tad unsharp.
I'm happy with it until I find the 1 in 100 that is really pin-sharp and wonder why they aren't all like that.
I'm going ot post a few for assistance, and see if it's ME or my equipment.
After all, it could be user error. Perhaps a little more practiced by Barcelona helped, too.
Me and the 70-200 & 24-70 lenses are the only things unchanged from Valencia (January) to Barcelona (February).
So I guess I'm the likely suspect
