Question New Poster - Obviously Size Matters

    Hi All.
First time poster here. Can't seem to properly resize my photos to post here. Pics were shot with Canon Digital Rebel using max megapixel setting. Attempting to use PhotoShop elements 2.0.

I've found the Image Resize menu but I'm unable to get my photos to the 195K size by adjusting via percent increments.

Any help out there for a newbie to the forum?

First get your photo down to 640 pixel limitation. Then save in .JPG and it will ask you about the compression rate. You can adjust til you get the size that you want.
Sorry the program isn't right in front of me right now so I might be getting the terms a little off.
    Enjoy

Re: New Poster - Obviously Size Matters

This may be a little late, and I hope you got it figured out. What I do in my PS Elements 2 is to "Save for Web" on my original. It brings up a screen that makes it real easy...I first set my size to constrain proportions then set my settings at 640 and let it automatically adjust the other dimension. then I hit apply. It will adjust to that size and tell you what the size is in the "2nd" screen. If I'm still too large, then I adjust the %age down by steps until I get the right size to upload. IMPORTANT...DON'T FORGET TO SAVE USING A DIFFERENT FILE NAME SO AS NOT TO LOSE YOUR ORIGINAL. If you've already figured this out...maybe this will help someone else.
