    The Mud Bowl

Nothing like a Friday night with temps in the 40's and a constant downpour. The team in black has a very fast, passing attack offense and the wet track totally shut them down as the team in white kept running misdirections to an over-pursuing defense and won the game 40-14. Both teams may meet in the second or third round of the playoffs and I'd love to see the match-up on a dry track.

Nice shots! This is everyone thought we would have last night after 2 days of rain. The field was in surprisingly good shape though.

    That last shot is weird.
I'm used to the black make-up smudges, but this looks like extra eyes have been painted on his face !
Is this to confuse the defence who may be watching for cues of the intended receiver ?

What's with the left hand, three fingers extended, index finger curled - is that an old injury, or a sign ?

Without zooming, I thought the guy was missing a 'pinkie' finger myself.

Very nice shots. Football in the Mud, nothing better than that.

The eye black he has on is not grease paint like players used to wear but stick-on black decals. What makes them look starge in the manufacturers name (Mueller) is on the front printed in white.

His left hand just looks odd as that's what happens sometimes when you're trying to throw a ball downfield.

If you look in the other picture of the QB, you can see that he has the same thing going in that picture. This must be just the way he throws.

I love the mud and rain for football. I know that it made shooting difficult, but you have some great pictures.

    Good job...
