    Lab suggestions

    Hello,

We're a portrait lab looking to serve sports & event shooters. What are the top two or three things you want in a lab? What do you wish you could have that your lab doesn't offer? Looking for advice/suggestions.

    Thanks,
    Jeff Berman

    Fulfillment

I want to be able to upload my files to a Web site where customers can view them and order prints. Then I want the lab to print them, bill them, and send me a check. That's not a new service. But it's a valuable one that I and other photographers are willing to pay for. I'd also like the whole process to be color managed and I'd like to be able to print up to 20x24. Printroom dos a pretty good job. But their priont turnaround time has slowed a lot since they started their professional service. How is your lab different from what's already out there?

Thanks for the input. We are looking into doing this. What do you consider a good turnaround time?

Printed, shipped, and delivered within a week. I think Printroom took about ten days last time I used them. That wasn't their professional service, though.

    Re: Lab suggestions

Yup, I agree with Photo-John, but I'd like to see larger prints, poster size. Turnaround time on those have been, well 4-6 weeks! I found one place was actually sending them to China to print them!
For the money these people were paying they didn't want to wait more than a few days.

Quantity pricing helps too. If I send an order for 2 8x10's of one shot 3 of another and 10 single 8x10's that should be a quantity price 15 prints, not full price for each because they are not the same print.
