So, what are you going to get him John? They are a bit aggressive aren't they?

Cool fish John. I have some cichlids too, but I don't remember where they are from. South America I think...

    Re: New Fish!

    Thanks guys!

Actually he was a lot more agressive than I had hopped for so I returned him to the store and picked up a pair of Keyhole Cichlids, Cleithracara maronii, and 6 neon Tetras to act as the dither fish.

I only bought the Texas becuase my orginal intention was to do a Native Species tank with some sunfish and a small catfish, and well, he was 1.99 and I thought he would most likely become fodder for the bigger sunfish. However, after a few days of watching the lil' scamp and I was rehooked on Cichlids. CA's and SA's will be a new experience for me, as most of what I have kept in the past had been Africans.

Mike, post some pics here of your fish. I'd like to see them.

Here is one of my Keyholes...

    Here is the other...

    John-
What are you shooting those with? I don't remember - do you have a macro lens?

Here's a couple shots of one of my cichlids. These are kinda crappy scans from some slides.
