    How to tell the most experienced shooter in a group? They have the least amount of toys on them.

    Great lighting! How much of that is in the shot and how much is in Photoshop? Could you post a basic description of how you did this shot - I'd really like to know and I'm sure others would too.

    And here's the PSD (CS) file that shows how I set up my layers. Most of it is adjustment layers with the exception of the gaussian blur/overlay layer which is used to soften the image while at the same time increasing contrast.

    One more thing...

    The lighting: Sun behind him (obviously) underexposed by a little over one stop and a 550ex on a light stand to my left, triggered wirelessly and set manually.
