Re: Need freeware to transfer images from camera to computer

Alright, I cracked, I give up- I got a card reader today. It works just fine. $10 for one that just does CF at the local camera store. It transfered everything- I got all the EXIF info and all the files transfered as they are on the card. And you know what? Picassa DOES display RAW files!! I haven't checked to see if I can edit them yet, but at least I know I can view them.

I do have the latest TWAIN driver, I checked, so that wasn't the problem, unless mine is corrupted or something, but then I don't think it would work at all. And on my fast computer I have 512 megs of RAM, so that's not why RAW Shooter didn't run (it DID install on both computers, it just won't run on either of them).

You mentioned you are using, " Windows 2000"?
If so, then this may be your problem more then the software.
Winodws XP has a copy that will copy from a card reader from the
My Computer window. Just go to the drive that is for the card reader,
from edit click on, select all, move the mouse over to the, copy and
select to where you want them copied to. It will copy all the files,
jpeg or Raw to that folder.
I own a Canon 20D so I am sure it would work for the 10D

My card reader is working fine, rovowen. It transfered everything perfectly. No software required. And yep, it's Windows 2000, with service pack 4.

I was referring to the problems I had before I got the card reader in the second paragraph of the last post. Or do you mean that there's a way to get the pics off the camera without a card reader if you're using XP?
