Has anyone else had trouble getting the date from the camera? Any idea what's causing that? Is it just the software I've downloaded, or something else?

My Evolt came with some software even though I haven't used it yet. Try going to the site that manufactored your camera and see if they has something you can use. I know that Olympus offers theirs online.
