I really like the strength of the lines in this shot. the strong colours only add to it imo. overall it gives a nice mood. the cat is the cherry on top. well done.
for improvement, i think cropping a bit of the right side to a more square crop that eliminates the black drapes on the right and puts the cat at a more 'rule of thirds' spot i think makes this shot much stronger.

I love the exposure. How much processing do you do, what is your work flow? I have really been trying to improve the clarity of my film shots. Maybe I need a better scanner.

Greg, my workflow varies greatly per photo but, generally, they all involve some selective adjustments to levels, curves, contrast, sharpness, saturation/hue, etc. as needed or to achieve a desired result (often through layering to selectively focus on particular areas of the image).
The scanner I am using is an older 2900 dpi Nikon CoolScan IV dedicated film scanner that does a reasonable job but I occasionally will run parts of an image through a de-graining software (though never removing all grain because the plastic smoothness of digital still doesn't appeal to me).
