    Waiting for the sun

I took this picture yesterday morning. I have versions with the sun cut off and some without. Last night I liked the sun partially cut off but today I think it might be better with the whole sun there. Any comments?

Great composition! I like the foreground elements and the clouds in front of the sun.

What gear did you use for this? Do you remember the settings?

This one was shot with a Canon EOS 20D and EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM @ 400mm and f/5.6.

    Thanks,

    Greg

Great shot! I think it the sun not being cut off would be better, but the silohuetted (?) grass in the foreground is a great contrast.

Simple but effective composition, I like the sun off centre and the foreground darkness is not overdone. Very effective image. Take care looking at the sun through a 400.

Geez! That explains the sun being so large. It didn't occur to me that you would use a lens that large for this type of shot. Thanks for the info. :-)
