I am still trying my luck with street shots. My concern here the yellow pole, the street sign, and the the person in the distance being to far away to make it work. They are actually waiting for the same bus.

Greg; I would not be in the least concerned about any of the items you mentioned. The beauty of street is you get the real deal. The rough is, or at least can be, as important as the smooth. The yellow post is an asset as far as I'm concerned.
The character is great; having just done his shopping and deserving his treat.
This picture tells a nice story.

I agree with GOM. My eye was drawn to the man sitting with his bags, then I just wandered around the scene. Pleasing.

He's definitely not overwhelmed by other elements. in fact, i think the rest of the photo is pretty minimalistic when you really look at it. there are a number of elements that help you look around the photo, but the subject is definitely the most prominent element. i like it.

I've been back several time to look at this one Greg and I can't put my finger on what intrigues me with it, when enlarged it looks quite noisy but mood of it makes that unimportant.

It's difficult to determine the subject of this image. The man in the foreground is noticed first, but why? Without a reference to what he's waiting for, I'm not sure how to react...

Thanks mriley, Garry Winogrand said that all photography was a lie that you really never know for sure what is going on in a street shot, but I do see your point
