Gary,

I do like the inside out theme you have, but this doesn't have the mystuique of your other shots. I think it could be the gate structure in front of the door cutting off the outside from the rest of the photo expecialy since it cuts the person in half. I do like the being able to see some of the inside but the floor is a little bright revealing to much information about the building your in. Sort of not giving me time to wonder about the contents.

Sorry about the ramble, all I'm trying to say is that for this shot it reveals to much about the inside and doesn't give the insider the solitude I was expecting from the theme you started.

Oops forgot to mention that I have no complaints about the technical aspoects of the photo - that is still outsanding as usual

Theres very little de tail except for beond the door, even the door is washed out .
inside there are very few details. the floor is washed out exept for the shaded areas.
I do like this shot, but the extreme contrast does not work for me.

What I just said about Seaport II ... ditto. While there is a lot more detail here than others in your series, I think it still has the same strong mystery about it and is a good variation. Keep 'em coming.

Nice shot. Everybody has covered most of what I was going to say. The one thing I'd also recommend is hope to not get the person in the door way, I think it would've made for a much more affective shot.

Hello Gary
The reflection on the floor is a vital part of this especially as we do not see its source. I would like to have seen just a little more detail on the right hand side where the ropes are and the clouds outside deserve a little lift also. On my monitor all is just a little to contrasty but the mystery, atmosphere and curiosity has not been lost because of this.
These shots are boyoos to get right and you have a knack of always achieving great results in such difficult lighting conditions.

Nice shot Gary. I agree with it being a tad bit too contrasty. I would've loved to see a bit of detail in the dark areas as well. Other than that I think the comp. and everything else is great.

I like both shots in this series. I don't have much to add except that I think I like this shot a little better. Geometry-wise, there just seems to be more to keep my attention.

I love the perspective on this shot. I think this one is slightly better then the other composition you did. I like the fact you can see more detail on the inside of the shelter, but it also has the high contrast on the wood. This shot could have been taken at the turn of the century, and would fit in just perfectly. Great work, as always.

Thanks all, for your take on this shot. I find the almost split difference in opinion on this over the other one interesting. I did take another composition of this same scene and wonder how you feel about this opposed to the first one. This is slightly different in a few ways.

I like the darker, more mysterious first shot although the light spilling across the floor is nice too. The feet and hands are almost too 'cute'.

I didn't even notice the person behind the door until others mentioned it. For me (and maybe just for me) I think the position of the door works better with other lines in the compostion.

Yes, I agree it has a meaning that I'm not intending to bring. i think Chunk said it well when he referred to it as being "too cute" But the first one I am not happy with some things and will probably put this one on the shelf for learning experiences.
