Re: A view from a ship

You thought about doing some pseudo HDR processing on this one?

Re: A view from a ship

I think if you just up'ed the contrast in the clouds this would be great.

I like the layering at the bottom, the expansive skies are appealing but i agree, i wish there was a bit more variation in contrast there.

You could crop out the top 1/2 of the sky I think.

Not this one. I'm after a more traditional black & white look.

    Thanks !

I like the idea about the contrast. Unfortunately, I'm not yet a fan of the panorama look.

Thank you for the comments, folks !!

With all respect towards what you're going for, some "hdr" treatment can really just give you a look of having spent a lot more time dodging and burning under the enlarger, not necessarily that "hdr" look.

Re: A view from a ship

I do like this alot as it is.
N8 makes a great point that you can get that "hours spent in the darkroom" look with a very subtle and quick hdr treatmet. . . don't dimiss it too quickly.

I also think SW cropping out half the sky into a pano would work well, but I'm cool with the way it is now.

    Nicely done, and great subject
