Two Flower shots

This is the first time in a online photo critique session. So I am very curious and eager to see the world of photographers see the work i have done.

I will post two flower shots. What do you think, honestly. Shot with a Canon Digital Rebel.

What are the thoughts

Interesting shots, but I like them. With any picture, using the rule of thirds helps drastically, and I think you would benefit yours greatly. The colors are a tad soft, but an easy fix. Nice shots and some nice potential.

Hi PM
I dunno what the two thirds law is, but I have been told that pictures are more interesting when taken with the subject off centre. A little to the left or right seems to tickle the pros' fancy.
Try for unusual angles with plain subjects. Like ordinary flowers or so.
Nice sharp images and good colors.

That is the rule of thirds. If you draw lines and cut the frame into three sections horizontally and vertically, and line your composition up accordingly, you get a nice, off centered feel.
