    Tinker toys

Here's another shot from the 14th floor conference room. This is in a construction laydown area for a new powerplant. The snow can make even this muddy mess look good - or at least cut down on the business of the scene.

Hey Chunk. I was reading your post while viewing your image and I didn't even realize that I was only looking at 2/3 of the picture. As I scrolled down, I was surprised to see more to the image, but I was dissapointed as to what it was. I think this image would work better, at least for me, if it was cropped at the base of the ladder. Juse my 2 cents.

    Re: Tinker toys

Thanks, Michael. I think you are probably right. I was thinking the blue tarp was a kinda counterpoint thing Where the spools were all circles and cylinders and open and airy and bland colored, this was angular and blocky and solid and colorful. The top half is pretty well filled with stuff and pretty busy and the bottom half is fairly empty with just the blue block. I was concerned that the color would pull the eye away from the spools but then started thinking that other stuff.
That's why I like posting here in critique. Your suggested crop does make a strong picture and I think I will probably print it that way....maybe both ways. ;) Thanks for the good critique.

I agree with the crop suggestion. I think everything in the top portion is laid out in a nice orderly fashion and has an appeal for that reason. By keeping it simple would keep that interesting area strong. Those giant spools do look like tinker toys.
