SF Botanical gardens with my new toys

    Hi All,

I haven't posted in a long time. So, here's my contribution. Just got a Canon 10D and 135mm soft focus lens. Love the combination. The 135mm f2.8 soft focus has been overshadowed by it's "L" brother. I think this is an awesome lens. I'm not a fan of the soft focus, but it's fun to play with sometimes. Here are some pictures I took today walking around the SF botanical gardens. They've all been resized to 640X427 and USM applied. Now that i'm unemployed and back to school I have some more time to wander this very photogenic city. Thanks for looking.

    Regards,
    Ivan

Beautiful colors on all the shots. Love the last one especially. Still stuck in the grey of Chicago. But at least the whole sky is 18% grey.

It's good to see you posting again Ivan. The last one just jumps out and grabs me! I love the colors and the use of a narrow DOF. Let's see some more!

    Thanks for the encouragement.

I love playing with the shallow DOF. The bokeh on this lens is really nice too, so you get that nice separation. Yeah, other than not having any income right now, one of the good things about being unemployed, it has given me a lot of time to shoot. I've been to places in SF that i've never been to... and I was born here!!! The weather's been awesome here for the past week or so. I hope it doesn't rain anymore this season, ah just being selfish. Here's a few more. Enjoy.
