    Swans on the Salt Marsh

Some pics of swans I spotted at the Marine Park Nature Preserve. They come around for a few weeks and then seem to migrate somewhere else. I have been doing a series of shots of this nature preserve here in Brooklyn as it has been developed only a few years ago.I was hoping to get up a collection of good shots from all seasons and all areas around this preserve and possibly exhibit them in the Park house as a tribute to this great place here. Not sure if these would be good enough to be part of a presentation, and now that I am not sure that these birds will be back until next year I may not have another oppurtunity for better shots of them. All comments appreciated

    Hi Gary,

In my opinion, these would be a wonderful addition to the park's house. You should definitely look into it! While the first isn't as sharp as the second, it still has the unusual viewpoint of the swans from behind. I like that... the second one is wonderful as well; I would clone out the piece of white paper in the background if you can. If you get more, please post them as well!

Brilliant photos Gary ! Took a very quick snap of some black swans at Buscot park in Oxfordshire yesterday - yours are very well constructed/captured.

    Hi Gary,
I especially like the first shot. The composition is well planned. The colour is also great.

Thanks for your encouraging comments. I am going to finish up this series of shots of this preserve by late fall , after I have all seasons recorded. I will post this idea in "help files" or "view finder" to try and get advice on how to go about setting up a presentation, as i have never done this before.
    Thanks again . . .

    Gary,

Nicely done. I like the color of the first shot, it's very eye catching and the lighting on the second shot is beautiful. I have to wonder what the other shots look like, from the other seasons. It would be nice to see them... *smile*

Thanks, thses are the two best shots of these Mute Swans ( thanks Paulnj) out of about 7 that I have. I thought I would have other opportunity to get better shots, but I have not seen them there any more. Most of the landscape shots and trees that I have posted have been from this preserve. I have shot winter scenes and spring, I will finish up with this summer and then fall and try to put together the best from all seasons and work on setting up a tribute prersentation. I am even thinking about donating my completed project to the park house for them to display as they like.

    Gary,

That would be a great idea and I'm sure they would appreciate your donation. I kind of thought that the previous pics you had posted were part of this project. I particularly like how each image and season shows a different aspect of the nature preserve. I can't wait to see you summer and fall images. *smile*
