Here is a picture that I definately do not consider submitting to the contest due to its "not so pretty" nature but I am especially satisfied with it.

Seb, I like this one as well, and all the different elements and objects are interesting in this scene. However, I really don't feel that b&w is strong in this scene as there is nothing prominent enough to really stand out, othere than the pole. I keep feeling that colors in this, as with all of your other comps of this type, will really help enhance the visual appeal. Thats just me, it still is very good in b&w and this is not really a critique, but rather just an honest opinion.

I like it as well, but agree and would like to see it in color. The little poster with the animals on the left keeps drawing my attention.

To create a photo from almost nothing takes same doing. I think you have managed well. I agree however that it does lack a focussing point.

Hey Seb. I think the B&W works for this photo. At least it does for me. I think if it were in color, the plastic cover on the wire would be too bright (yellow or orange?) and distract from the rest of the image. Not much to focus on, but overall, I get what you were going for.

Gary: Piet's comment made me realise that I didn't get your comment. I mean, are you thinking that b&w doesn't suit the scene well or that it is lacking a main subject (say someone passsing by...) or both??? Thanks for sharing your thoughts

Payn817: I'll post a color version although I don't find the colors to be interesting in this scene.

Piet: Thanks, I guess area could be a suitable backdrop for a portrait of some sort. I'll go back there later.

Just great. The tones here are perfect, and you maximized the use of the rule of thirds. A nice, contrasting image with strong composition points. Nice shot,
