This is one fine shot, Ross. It has a kind of 50's-60's feel to it. Nicely done.

I agree, I can add nothing to make it better. Very nice......

Re: "Spotting the Train in Position"

To critique my own... for Greg since he shoots railroads a bit... here is what I would change... and yeah I know... I am my own worst critic...LOL

Slight right-itis by about .25 degree... removal or cover of pepsi machine before shot, removal of new garbage can before shot...

We have another shoot this year coming up in the beginning of September... and a shoot at night next week at Connecticut Eastern Museum... so I hope this year I can really brush up on my shots...

With a little work the pepsi machine and garbage can could be cloned out......

Re: "Spotting the Train in Position"

This is a fine looking scene. I am wondering how this would look exposed about 1-2 stops less than it was here. It all looks good to me, but the exposure seems a bit on the high side. Very good.

Re: "Spotting the Train in Position"

Ross I disagree with your critique because it gives the photo that lived in feel.

I do like the tonal quality you achieved and I can see what Gary is suggesting, but I'm wondering that selected burning in wouldn't be a better approach in certain parts of the photo.

The parts I would remove are the things above the roof on top of the platform and on the left there is a bright skylight or something.

    Nice one

As a personal rule I dont do material edits at all... a dust spot or something is ok... but nothing else...

No problems, each to his own as they say.

    Still a good photo regardless.
