    Excellent Title..

I have been meaning to comment on this image for some time now..
    This is a great image.
There are a lot of things going on it.
The textures from the water fasinating! So are the colors and motion.
I think you put just the right amount of shore in it too.
It is a very dramatic image!

I'll join the crowd here - excellent shot. The foreground doesn't bother me, that curve that goes from one corner of the frame to the other looks great.

Gotta admit, I'm not surprised about what the original scan looks like - and that doesn't affect my impression of the final image. In flat overcast lighting, you just don't get that kind of saturation in the water, etc - but like I say the end result is excellent. Believe me, I'm not trying to take anything away from your work here. Not too overdone in post although maybe pushing it a little; that's a style in a way. Wouldn't change a thing. Great work!

Very nice. I like that you included the foreground, but at the same time it doesn't do the rest of the picture justice,.. I guess its too dark by comparison. I still have mixed feelings about digital manipulation of photos, but when there's the case of a picture not quite there I guess it doesn't hurt to make something from it. I guess telephone lines in the pic could be removed too - they're my nemesis.

The color of the water and the sky complement each other very well. They seem to be in the same tonal range.

Funny what you wrote about the bad equipment. I can relate. It seems like there's no such thing as a perfect situation when chasing brief moments of nature like this, if you take the time to get everything right then the light changes and you miss the shot!
