    Sandhill Cranes

Taken in February in Leesburg, FL. The birds were in a small clearing, they didn't seem to mind humans walking right beside them at all.

Good capture , wildlife can be hard to photograph at times , my only critique would be that your focus is soft. Think the first one is the best of the 2, maybe a little perspective croping would help . Again good capture

I like the first one also, yet the colors are lacking. I believe saturating them more would help greatly. Also, using the rule of thirds instead of cropping it will help drastically. Nice potential,

I was upset by the lack of colour in the background as well. Unfortunately Florida doesn't have the the greenest grass.

Here's one with a better background, although I didn't want to post it yet because I hadn't gotten around to editing out the fence.

I like the third one you just posted. What draws me especially is the symmetry of the birds, well not exactly, but you got close enough. The colors aren't that greatest, and especially since the cranes are almost the same color as the dead grass, well, a difficult. I will however say that I find this photo appealing, for both the symmetry, and the contrast of colors in the birds. A very good job, but needs a little touching up.

Thank you, I still have editing to do on this one. I'm trying to touch up all my vacation photos before my relatives come down, and I haven't gotten around to this one. I've always hated fences in pictures, (wildlife), because it makes it look like the animals are in captivity, rather than the wild. That isn't the case in this picture, but the fence makes it look like it. As for the colours, I wish the sky would have been less blue as it seems to me that it's to sharp of a contrast to the dull tones of the grass. Too bad there wasn't clouds...

These sure are neat birds. I really love seeing them when they are down here (Houston, TX). I think these pictures might be better with a tighter crop.

There was one that I cropped quitew narrowly and posted, but I edited it out because it made it too large.

The coloring on these birds really need great lighting for them to pop. Did you shoot around mid day? If these birds frequent this area try shooting them at ground level in the late evening. Tighter vert. crop.
