White Ibis

I shot this today with a D70 and 75-300 Nikkor with a Tamron 1.4 SP teleconverter attached. It underexposes one stop, which worked out just fine for this white bird. Tell me what you think and how you would improve it, please.

I think it's beautiful and I wouldn't do a thing different. Nice detail and lighting. I just dropped my tele lens and broke it after using it twice so I'm jealous.

Nice shot. I took the liberty of playing with your shot in PS Elements. I adjusted the levels a bit and played with the contrast. Since I just learned how to use the clone feature, I also attempted to clone out the leaf in the bottom left corner (which was distracting to me). Didn't feel like posting another image in this thread, so I added it here:

Didn't put the original on the page with it, so you may have to open a new window for easy comparison. Keep in mind that I'm still very new to PS, so my results may be rudimentary level. Also remember that I'm looking at this on a laptop screen, so I may be WAAY off. My attempt may also look too artificial, but it's late and my eyes were crossing a bit.

What I attempted to do was to bring out the contrast of the beak, eye, and legs against the surroundings without losing the texture of his feathers. Had it been a shot I took myself, I probably wouldn't have done much to it (besides cloning out the mildly distracting stray leaf).

This is ok , but could have been better had there been some light on the bird. It does seem flat. Might be able to help it some in ps. Sharp and full frame makes this good. I agree about that leaf in the lower left corner, somewhat distracting. Your getting the hang of shooting white birds.
