Please give me some feedback on this image

This was shot in Uster, Switzerland back in May on a holiday with my wife.
My goal was to show the texture of the building with a unbalanced composition.

Please let me know what you think!

I love the texture in this photo Chris, and I think the unbalaced comp adds nice touch. Usually window shots don't do much for me, but I payed extra attention to this one because of the great texture and contrast in the wall.

    Nice shot!

Thanks! I have been paying more attention to composition throught he camera instead of trying to crop the image after it is printed and this shot is oneof the first i like.

I agree with the rest. Great exposure and texture. However, I am distracted by the graffiti (?) on the right and the line on the bottom (some kind of beam?). Maybe further cropping is needed to get rid of them?

Which equipment and film did you use?

    Cheers,

    Steph.

    Hello Chris,

You have achieved your goal for sure. This is a solid photograph. I enjoy everything about it, from the composition, to the texture, to the contrast. It deserve to be the featured photo on the board, nothing less.

    Chris,

Very nice. I played with the composition a bit and somehow I like it better without the lower horizontal line. To me the line looks curved.. was it like that, or was that due to distortion of the lens? (I have that problem with many of my lenses.) Here's you photo without the line. To me it looks a bit cleaner like this, but also more abstract.

Hi. thanks for the feedback. yes, the graffiti is definitely a issue, and the line at the bottom is the sidewalk. The original composition has much more of the sidewalk and it is downhill.
I shoot with a F100, Kodak Tmax 100 and 400. This was shot with 100, developed in Tmax, scanned with a epson 3170 and worked in PS 2.0

    I think this is excellent.
I would not crop it any more but given the texture perhaps the grafitti could easily be lconed out.
