hmm thats odd, it works for me. Personally i love the picture, how its setup, and how the gold sword is differnet from the gray type of scene.

i uploaded the pic to some of my webspace for you hope it helps.

    Thanks

Thanks for the feedback f-15. Looks like i need a different photo host to keep this up.

Just got a new old canon s45 camera today to replace the digital elph that took this picture (it was stolen in Paris) I am pretty excited to take some pictures with it.

This is awesome, I love the sky and the statue and your placement in relationship to the statue, it "elevates" it... what all was done to this ( if anything?) I ask because of the darkness on her face and the column/pillar, but that could just be weathered...
I really like this image... In My opinion, it would benefit from a crop on the left side, getting rid of the that object there, and also, it would take away some of the pillar, to where the angle not being straight up to the side of the picture isn't so apparent.... does this make sense??

    oh, and Welcome Jparker!!

Nothing major was done to it. The levels were adjusted and a light unsharp mask applied. The lighting made the whole city look a little surreal when I was there. Great fun for taking pictures. I see what you are saying about the crop and am playing with it now.
    something like this?

Personally, I like that better ! I think it makes it more "technically" correct, then again, someone else may post that knows more about elements of design than I ! do you like this crop better?

    I agree

I like the cropped one. The column does provide some nice contrast with the sky and statue, but is too distracting.

I like this one better. You've moved the subject off dead center. Much better composition IMHO.
    Nice work.
