    Playing with light

This is a "retro" uplight, with diamond cutouts near the rim. I just thought it may make an interesting subject. It kinda reminds me of the brain teaser images. Maybe it works as an abstract?

I love it. Very simple, very abstract. The one overexposed diamond works perfectly, as it adds a focal point and a nice contrast between the two! Very well done and a great shot!

I really like this shot also, my one suggestion would be to have the "focal diamond" in the lowest part of the shade so it's more symetrical and more abstract (to me).

    Excellent!

I thought this one would be ignored. I was so bored when I did it. But then couldn't stop looking at it. If you stare at it full screen it plays tricks on your eyes. Thanks for the comments!

This is abstract! One might guess its a light but that doesn't really matter to me. Only constructive comment I'd offer is that some of the diamonds fall out of the range of focus of the photo. A little greater depth of field would fix that right up!

I like this one on several levels.

I really like this - in fact I like it so much I downloaded it an played with the image - rotate it 90 degrees and its great, or add a block colour to it.

    Terrific.

By the way did you try it so that the diamonds were completely symmetrical? Just to see what it looked like?

    Re: Playing with light

Yeah, I played with it quite a bit. In the end, I liked it just as it stands here. The 90 degree flip does look nice too. There is a shot at 45 degrees also.

Later, when i get up, I will post the 45 degree photo. Also, will post a photo of the lamp itself, as that will explain some things about this subject. The filters, effects, angles, etc. for this subject are many. It looks neat in negative too.

By the way- Here is the another shot.
