    Pastoral Silhouette

I was hoping that there would be more clouds, but this was just a quickie attempt. This is only a two minute walk from my room...Hopefully the idea is sound, even if the conditions weren't what I would have liked, since I can shoot this any night I want.

    Re: Pastoral Silhouette

A very nice silhouette. I also like the orange gradually fading into the sky. Maybe if the barn were more promonent and not shrouded with the trees. I am not sure though what could improve on this picture. But then again, this is one of those, excuse me, "cliched" pictures. Everybody and his dog does one at one point or another. This is not a condemnation of your composition though. People constantly take pictures like this because they always seem to work. I wouldn't stake your career on this kind of thing though . Weird joke in even weirder taste. Never mind.

This is great. I'm a sucker for sunset silhouettes. I think spectacular sunsets are always made better by some interesting subjects in front of them. Although this isn't the most spectacular of skies, the pastoral scene is pleasing and it is nice that you have this nearby for the better skies to come. I hope the cows continue to cooperate.

I like shooting the sky. Sunrises are my favorite subject. This is a nice pic. I think you should edit it to remove the cloud, maybe crop it to get rid of negative space (sky).

    Nice shot though.

Nice scene, and color. Too bad the trees are coming up behind the barn. I think it would be stronger if you crop out some of the black foreground, and leave all the sky. ( if you get up the nerve, go out one evening and chop down those trees behind the barn. . . .you do have an axe or saw in your camera bag, don't we all??)

I like your shot. Did you use a filter? The sky is just a great orange. If you head out again, don't forget to order the cows back.
