    Old cottage

Very bright sun and strong blustery wind made conditions somewhat less than ideal.
Now you can call me daft if you like, but I didn't feel comfortable getting any closer to that cottage.

good composition. the clouds are great and fluffy. yeah it looks a bit bright. I hope it wasn't so 'light'. but the exposure is still good. nice one.

    Re: Old cottage

Love the cottage. I know what you mean about getting too close, but ultimately i would have loved to venture inside

Yep, as you say the day was very bright and we can see that here. I do feel this is one of those cases where perhaps the clouds in the sky are a bit too dramatic for this scene. I'm losing the isolated feel becayse the clouds are so heavy they almost look to be another foreground element. They catch my eye more than the cottoage does, if that makes any sense.

Would love to see another take on this if you could get back there easily.

nicely spotted, its a great subject.

    oooh...abandoned stuff! I love it.
This shot though, looks soft on my monitor. And the composition is a bit...staid. I'd like to see other views if you have them.

Love the shot, but almost feel like there shoud be a bit more contrast in the lower half to take some of the "punch" away from the clouds.

Thanks for looking Iguanamom I gave this a 0.3 pixel gaussian blur as I thought it was over sharp.
Thanks Jet I initially had more contrast but for some reason backed it off a bit.
