    Norman Rockwell Winter

I'm not sure what I think about this photo. I know it could use some work, and subject in the photo would be nice, but I want to hear your thoughts on it. To me, it reminds me of a town out of a Norman Rockwell painting.

I think this shot would work better under two conditions:
    1. Fresh snow
    2. Better lighting conditions
It's pretty harsh and the shadows are wreaking havoc. The overall composition is good though.

Why don't you try going back at dusk when the house lights and gate lights are on? Or really early in the morning.

Thanks for the input Jon. We have a good chance of some snow for the weekend so I will be out and about shooting away. I want to shoot this place again, from this angle, and from the highway right above the building. If you look on top of the house in the BG you can see the guard rail to the highway. I think that location will give a nicer composition.

that's a nice picture. now i'm no expert, but i think the focal point in your photo is a little lost. the branches in front of the building hide it too much. but other than that it's a good picture. that's just my opinion

Well, i can see what your trying to capture, your showing the landscape in a wide angle view, to show others what they missed out that day when u took this picture, In a photographers point of view, there isnt realy a focal point in this picture, and it seems to be very very like busy because there are like different levels of plants from the foreground to the house and its just like busy, i dont know how to describe it but, I dont know, Try it again from a different angle, mabey to the left for the right, mabey crop, i dont know
