    Mountain Serenity

This is a shots from my vacation a couple of months ago. Taken in Rocky Mt. National Park with Canon AE-1, 24mm lens, and Velvia 50. There is a fisherman in the photo, but he's pretty small. Are the trees in the FG too much? Thoughts, comments?

I like this picture, however the tree in the middle seems to be detracting from the mountain in the distance because it is covering up a lot of it.
Photos are memories that last a lifetime.

    Hello Michael,

Actually, I would like to have more space betwen the trees. It would have been nice if the tree at the right grew even more in the right direction so it would be less proeminent in the picture and more open space would remain in the center. Obviously, you have no control on this but this aspect of your image distract me.

Other than that, I love your colors rendering and the lighting in the foreground is very interesting (some dodging involved? if it is the case, I believe that you did very well).

    Re: Mountain Serenity

Thanks for taking the time to look and post! I really like this image, but the more I look at it, the less I like that large tree in the FG. I think I should have used a 50mm lens and got a little closer to crop out some of that tree.

Seb, to process this image, I ran Fred Miranda's Velvia Vision action. Here is an original, unedited version of the pick.

    Michael,

I agree about the tree, just in there a tad too much. The colors are great though, and a nice, strong background. Good shot, just that dang tree
