    Missed the lightning...

but I got a light trail. Had another large thunder storm roll thru last night, but by the time I got in a position to shoot the lightning, it was all but gone. I did manage to get a light trail tho... Not what I wanted, but something to look at.

How do you take a picture of the lighting? What settings do you use, when do you shoot? I've been dying to learn about this for a while.

    Re: Missed the lightning...

I had this very same question yesterday. This was my first attempt and I got skunked so I don't think I'm the guy to ask. I posted your very same question yesterday and here is the link for you. Good luck!

The light trail is neat with the golden sunset in there. Having some lightning in there would've been superb if it worked, but still, nice shot!

    Good colors,

    Re: Missed the lightning...

Thanks for the comments Jared. To be honest with you, I'm not real sure about the source of the light. This was taken about an hour and a half (10:30) after sunset, facing north east. No towns or anything that I can think of located over there...

    Michael,

Weird. Still, that light adds a GREAT effect to the shot. Well done,

What a sky! Excellent effect from the light trail across the image and the trees on the left hand side look brilliant, well done!
