Nothing like catching a fleeting moment and having your camera nearby.

You could crop this one a bit more but in general I like it. Obviously the color will be a little subdued because you're shooting through a window into a somewhat shady spot, but the orientation of the birds and the plant all combine to make a nice composition.

I uploaded a slightly different variant to show you what I mean... hope you don't mind.

    Talking Thanks!

I was going to crop the image, but to keep it proportioned for printing I would have had to lose a lot of the mother bird in the process. Thanks for your comments!

Actually, I was at my computer editing some sports images from the day before and happened to see the momma and daddy coming and going with food. I just stuffed the 70-200 2.8 onto my 10D, set it on Alservo, AWB, and multi shot. I actually captured around 30 keepers from the episode. I have one in which the mother's head is completely down the baby's throat. But, all in all, just lucky, I guess.

    Thanks for your comments.

Nice moment. For next time, if you could been able to turn the camera vertical and zoom in closer, you'd have more of a National Geographic quality shot.
